The Company is a joint venture between M/s. Kopran and M/s. Industrial 
Promotion Service (‘IPS’), a subsidiary of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic 
Development, with Kopran investing a sum of Rs. 48.33 million into the Company 
as its equity contribution.

Kampala Pharmaceutical Industries (1996) Ltd. is the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing
company in Uganda, and manufactures and markets a wide range of life saving medicines. 
It employs over 200 local persons who have been trained in the skills required for cGMP
pharmaceutical production.

The Company was a running company and was taken over by the the joint venture
partners in 1996 for the manufacture and marketing of finished dosage forms
in Uganda/East Africa.
